I spent the night with @ellenfisher And @hannah_mcneely. We made smoothies and watched friends. Then something even cooler happened (yep cooler than friends). They showed me one of the best ted talks I’ve ever seen “Ken Robinson: Do schools kill creativity?” - something that stood out to me was this, “if you’re not prepared to be wrong, you’ll never come up with anything original. Yet by the time children become adults, most kids have lost that capacity. They have become frightened of being wrong. And we run our companies like this. And we’re running national educational systems where mistakes are the worst thing you can make. And the result is that we are educating people out of their creative capabilities. ” His whole talk was both hilarious and genius. Innovation is needed to change and better this planet. Our future generation are not taught to innovate (in other words, use and value their creativity as high as literacy or maths). Watch it (20 mins) and comment your thoughts below.
